Brief.

The “Merck Animal Health Partnership” iOS app was designed as an internal application for MERCK Animal Health employees, particularly field sales agents and account managers. Its primary purpose was to create suggested order reports for MERCK Animal Health clients and prospects, facilitating purchase proposals. The app incorporated One Merck Vet (OMV) and Perpetual Loyalty Program (PLP) client base data and historical sales records to calculate annual, quarterly, monthly, and promotional rebates for clients. Furthermore, the app integrated MERCK’s internal ISID authentication through OAuth to secure data access, limiting users to their respective accounts and territories.

My Contributions.

Functional Requirement Gathering & Documentation:

I undertook the significant task of extracting an extensive set of functional requirements from MERCK Animal Health, meticulously comprehending their specific needs related to data integration, rebate calculations, and user access limitations.

To streamline development and documentation, I built a prototype with all requirements interactively documented throughout along with data flows and locations, test cases, and expected results.

Unified Planning:

Leveraging the gathered requirements, I orchestrated a comprehensive plan to unify the diverse data sources and functionalities of the app. The goal was to provide a seamless and structured user experience.

Estimation Validation:

I actively contributed to validating project estimates, ensuring they accurately represented the intricacies of integrating complex data sources and features. This helped in aligning expectations with the project’s true scope.

Enhanced Development Path:

Through close collaboration with the development team, I played a pivotal role in optimizing our development approach. The aim was to create a more efficient and agile development process that aligned with MERCK’s requirements and user expectations.

Solution Design & Planning:

I played a pivotal role in designing and planning the development of the “Merck Animal Health Partnership” iOS app, ensuring it met the specific needs of Merck Animal Health employees.

Technical Expertise:

My deep technical knowledge allowed me to navigate through complex data systems, integrating One Merck Vet (OMV) and Perpetual Loyalty Program (PLP) data and history sales effectively into the app. This expertise enabled the calculation of annual, quarterly, monthly, and promotional rebates.

Integration and Customization:

I tailored the app to integrate with Merck’s internal ISID authentication through OAuth, ensuring secure access and limiting users to their respective accounts and territories.

Adherence to Timelines and Budget:

My management skills ensured the project stayed on track within defined timelines and budget constraints.

Stakeholder Management & Transparency:

I effectively communicated and collaborated with Merck Animal Health employees, including field sales agents and account managers, to ensure the successful utilization of the app.
